After a nine years long absence Zeno Roth returned in 1995 with his Zeno project and the album "Zenology". The album compiled material recorded between 1987-1994. It was okay but too unfocused.
On this new record Mr. Roth has been able to recapture an album feel, perhaps because the songs were written to become a record, but also because original vocalist Michael Flexig handles all lead vocal duties. Whereas he on "Zenology only did 5 songs and Tommy Heart and Helge Engelke (from Fair Warning) the other 6 vocal tracks.
Anyway, Zeno's sound is more "busy" nowadays with a lot of squealing guitars compared with the fluffier work on the debut from 1986, which remains by far their best.
Most interesting songs on this CD is the 3 bonustracks from 1987/88, especially "Walking On A Thin Line" that recalls what they used to sound like.
